We attracted a good audience to our summer concert on 16 May 2015 at the United Reformed Church in Wilmslow. The theme was Music Through the Ages and the programme spanned five centuries from the Renaissance to the present day, moving through the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods. The audience – and Choir – enjoyed hearing our conductor Lloyd speak about the development of music through the centuries and the distinctive characteristics of each period. We were delighted that our accompanist Stephen Reynolds also featured in the programme with piano solos by Bach and Beethoven.
We were delighted to have a large and appreciative audience for our performance of Mendelssohn’s wonderful oratorio Elijah at St Bartholomew’s Church in Wilmslow on Saturday 21 March.
Joining us for the concert were five exceptional soloists: Rebecca Lea (soprano), Helen Anne Gregory (mezzo-soprano), William Petter (tenor), Oliver Dunn (bass) and Nathan Kenworthy (treble), along with Richard Brocklehurst, an outstanding accompanist. Congratulations and thanks to them all for their fine performances.
We received a very warm welcome at St Bart’s and look forward very much to singing there again in the future.
