Our 2020/21 season will mark the Barnby Choir’s 75th anniversary, and we are delighted to announce a programme of celebratory concerts, in which we will be accompanied by the talented musicians of Musica Nova.
On Sunday, 13 December, 2020, we will perform Vivaldi’s Gloria and a variety of Christmas carols, old and new, at the United Reformed Church, Wilmslow.
On Sunday, 21 March, 2021, in a special anniversary concert at the Royal Northen College of Music in Manchester, the programme will feature Mozart’s Great Mass in C Minor.
On Saturday, 22 May, 2021, at St Michael’s Church in Bramhall, Haydn’s Creation will be the featured work, linking with the first concert by the Barnby Choir in September 1945, when two movements were performed.
As a unique feature of the season, each concert will commence with the anthem, Let the Music Sound, specially composed by our conductor Lloyd Buck for this milestone year.
We are greatly looking forward to the celebrations. Come and join us – as a singer or as audience!
Full booking details will be published in due course but, in the meantime, please put the dates in your diary!
If you would be interested in singing with us, or in joining our free mailing-list to receive a copy of our leaflet with information about future concerts, please call 0161 485 1659, or email us using our Contact form.
