
Mackenzie Paget
Mackenzie is a Welsh born pianist who studied under Murray McLachlan at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he gained a distinction in his Master’s degree in 2021.
Mackenzie has built a distinguished name in solo, chamber and accompaniment as a pianist. He regularly gives solo recitals, collaborates with musicians in a chamber setting – the Embrey Duo and Malbec Quartet, which he founded – and accompanies, receiving numerous commendations for his sensitivity in accompanying, leading him to win the Chris Petty English song prize accompanist award in 2019.
Mackenzie trained as a ballet pianist under Royal Ballet pianist Nicky Williamson and regularly visits Pineapple Studios in Covent Garden to accompany classes. He is very excited about his recent post with the Barnby choir and enjoys accompanying the Gatley Choir along with being at Halle St Peters regularly as one of their choral accompanists.
Mackenzie’s passion is in teaching, where he continues to coach passionate students, helping them gain some of the highest marks in their region and helps secure places in prestigious music schools such as Chetham’s. He is currently a member of the piano faculty at Terra Nova Prep. School, Brabyns Prep. School and Stockport Grammar School.
