Protocols for return to in-person rehearsals, September 2021
For the safety of everyone involved, including our conductor and accompanist, the following measures will be put in place at rehearsals:
a) Arrival (and departure) will be socially distanced.
b) Face-coverings* will be worn, including when singing.
c) Hand sanitiser will be available.
d) Seating will be distanced – in sections.
e) Rehearsal time will be limited to 1.5 hours, with a short comfort break. Otherwise, members will remain seated.
To protect others, we will expect all who attend to have been double-vaccinated, and to take a lateral flow test before each rehearsal. The latter will definitely be required for anyone not able to be vaccinated for medical reasons.
Protocols will be reviewed regularly and updated in line with the latest advice.
*Advice on face-coverings suitable for singing is available from the Choir Secretary on 0161 485 1659.
The following websites provide singers with a rehearsal system which singles out individual parts and, in the case of cyberbass, allows the opportunity to practise at different speeds.
The YouTube site is also useful for hearing works in performance:
