Farewell Stephen and welcome Tom
In February, we bade a fond farewell to Stephen Reynolds, our accompanist since 2000.
Stephen had a long and distinguished career after graduating from the Royal Manchester College of Music, where he gained ARMCM distinction in both solo performance and teaching. He gave many highly acclaimed piano recitals in the UK and abroad, in prestigious venues such as London’s Wigmore Hall and Purcell Room, and the Vienna Conservatoire. He also broadcast on the BBC and performed with several British orchestras and conductors, and his own compositions include works for piano and organ, plus choral, orchestral and chamber music. Stephen had a long association with the Royal Northern College of Music, where he was both accompanist and tutor, and is an outstanding choral accompanist. All of us in the Barnby Choir feel very privileged to have benefited from his professionalism and his friendship for so many years.
Following Stephen’s departure, we were very pleased to appoint Tom Pieczora as his successor
