Thank you Stephen – and welcome Tom

In February, we bade a fond farewell to Stephen Reynolds, our accompanist since 2000.

Stephen has had a long and distinguished career since graduating from the Royal Manchester College of Music, where he studied with Colin Horsley and Ryszard Bakst, gaining ARMCM distinction in both solo performance and teaching, plus GRSM with special merit in performance. He also won Rothschild and Martin Trust scholarships, among other awards.

During his career, Stephen has given many highly acclaimed piano recitals in the UK and abroad, in prestigious venues such as London’s Wigmore Hall and Purcell Room, and the Vienna Conservatoire. He has also made occasional broadcasts on the BBC and performed with several British orchestras and conductors. He has composed works for piano and organ, plus choral, orchestral and chamber music.

He has had a long association with Clonter Opera and the Royal Northern College of Music, where he was both accompanist and tutor. He is an expert choral accompanist and all of us in the Barnby Choir would like to express our gratitude for having benefited from his professionalism and his friendship for so many years, and wish him all the very best for the future.

At the same time we extend a warm welcome to his successor Tom Pieczora. We look forward to working with Tom.
